Situated in central Massachusetts apple country only 30 miles west of Boston, this smoke-free New England retreat center has been a special place for family reunions, nonprofit workshops and outdoor weddings since 1947. A century-old carriage house and barn have been renovated to accommodate up to 65 people in a combination of dormitory and private rooms with ample meeting space, breakout rooms and beautiful grounds.

Tented wedding weekends at Friendly Crossways provide you with exclusive usage of our country retreat center for family and guests to meet, mingle and make your wedding ceremony and celebration a memorable one. Our outdoor wedding venues include a wooded glade, a grassy ampitheater and an apple orchard. Do-it-yourself as much or as little as you like, from designing a rehearsal or reception menu with our chef that features your favorite foods to decorating your tent to meet your fantasy setting. Our wedding facilities are kid friendly and wheel-chair accessible.

First licensed in 1947 by American Youth Hostels (now Hostelling International-USA), this hostel is now the longest continually operating hostel in the United States! We provide affordable accommodations for individual travelers or groups on a budget. We’re in the peaceful, rural town of Harvard, 40 km away from Harvard University, but accessible by commuter rail from Boston or Cambridge.
